1. Introduction

Wyre Fox ("we," "our," or "us") operates the mobile application BorMe: Boring History for Sleep (the "Application"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of information when you access or use our Application.

We are firmly committed to user privacy. BorMe is designed from the ground up as a privacy-first, calm bedtime audio experience. We do not require you to create an account with personal credentials, we do not record audio, we do not track your real-time physical location, and we do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertisers.

2. Information We Collect and Receive

Because the Application is used without a mandatory sign-in or social login, we collect minimal data strictly required for the functioning of the Application:

A. Anonymous Device & Installation Identifier

Upon initial launch, the Application generates an anonymous, random alphanumeric installation UUID stored securely on your device. This identifier is used solely to:

  • Remember your local preferences (such as selected narrative eras, bedtime reminder preferences, and audio mixer volume balances).
  • Synchronize your active in-app subscription status across app sessions via RevenueCat.

B. In-App Purchase and Transaction Information

When you purchase a subscription or unlock premium content, financial transactions are processed directly by Google Play Billing. Wyre Fox does not collect, receive, or store your credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or billing addresses. We receive only transaction tokens and purchase status confirmations (e.g., active, expired, or refunded) via our subscription infrastructure provider, RevenueCat, Inc.

C. Local On-Device Storage

The Application stores listening preferences, custom soundscape volume settings, sleep timer preferences, and downloaded audio stories locally in your device's private app sandbox. This data stays entirely on your physical device unless you choose to delete the Application or use the in-app "Reset Data" feature.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

To provide complete clarity under Google Play User Data policies:

  • NO Audio Recording: BorMe is an audio player only. The Application does not request microphone access (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO is explicitly blocked), and it never records or listens to your ambient audio or voice.
  • NO Precise or Approximate Location: We do not request, access, or track your GPS or fine location.
  • NO Contacts, Photos, or Files: The Application does not access your personal media, camera, address book, or external storage files.
  • NO Advertising Trackers: BorMe contains zero third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell or share data with advertising networks.

4. Non-Medical Wellness Disclaimer

BorMe provides soothing historical narration and ambient sound beds intended solely for relaxation, sleep routine support, and auditory comfort. The Application is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any clinical sleep disorder (such as chronic insomnia or sleep apnea), mental health condition, or other medical condition. Always seek the advice of a qualified physician or healthcare provider with any medical questions.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers that process minimal technical data on our behalf to operate the Application:

  • Google Play Services: Handles app distribution, updates, and Google Play In-App Billing processing in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat, Inc.: Facilitates mobile subscription validation and receipt checking. View RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention and Deletion (Your Rights)

You have full control over your data:

  • In-App Local Reset: You can clear all cached downloads, listening progress, and custom preferences at any time by navigating to Settings → Reset Data inside the Application.
  • Uninstalling the App: Removing the Application deletes all locally stored files, preferences, and downloaded sleep episodes from your device.
  • Cloud / Server Deletion Request: If you wish to delete any server-side anonymous entitlement records associated with your installation, please visit our Support & Data Deletion Page or email us at support@wyrefox.com with your anonymous User ID (found in Settings). Requests are fulfilled within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can promptly delete such information.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
